During preseason registration, our registrar receives a lot of questions.  Please see below for some specific FAQ answers regarding team formation and registration. 

Team Formation: Friend Requests

We do not accommodate friend requests, and other special requests for team placement are accommodated in very limited circumstances.  

Team Formation: Siblings

Siblings in the same division are accommodated and can be placed on the same team.  Siblings in different divisions will not be brought up/down to play on the same team.  

Team Formation: Billets

Billets in the same division may be accommodated like siblings as long as the 2 players are not both first round draft players.  Depending on the situation, the league may need to apply draft concessions.

Division Ages - What division should I register my child? 

Compared to previous seasons, the league division names have changed to align with CBHA divisions.  Note that this is strictly a name change only.  

The divisions are still organized into ages the same as previous seasons.  The divisions are named where interpretation of "U" (under) means that age is not allowed in that division.

For example in the 2025 season, the oldest player age possible in the U9 2017\2018 division is 8 years, corresponding to a birth year of 2017. 

The division birth years are referenced on the website where ever possible.  Please register your child in the appropriate division based on birth year.

Game Format Summary

• Use the rink clock (if available) for all game start/end Game to start on time.
• All levels receive a 3-minute warm up (regardless if team on the floor).
• All levels receive a 2-minute break between periods
• No time outs or overtime in the regular
• Game must end with two (2) minutes left on the wall clock before the end of the scheduled time - game to be whistled “over” at this time no matter how much time left on the game clock.
• Players must have a CSA approved hockey helmet with a cage on all times - this includes on the bench, on the floor and during handshake.
