Coach Application Process

Thank you for considering taking the first steps in applying for a coaching position within GVMBHA.  It is a fun and rewarding experience!

To coach within GVMBHA, you will need to complete a Coaching Application annually, have a Criminal Record Check within the past 2.5 years and have a current Respect in Sport certificate.

 Here are the required steps for a coaching position:

• Coaching Application - Coaching Application - you must have an existing account or create a new one. By submitting your coaching application, you are agreeing to the "Coaches Code of Conduct" within the coaching application.

• Criminal Record Check 
  • A Criminal Record Check (CRC) must be completed every 3 years, this can be done online. Please request the link and code by contacting us at tracking@victoriavipers.ca 
  • Once you apply for your CRC, keep a copy of your confirmation number, you may be asked to provide this at a later date. CRC clearance letters can take several weeks or longer to return to us. 
  • Should you be unable to complete your CRC online, you will be directed to contact the organization and ask for a manual criminal record check form. Email us at tracking@victoriavipers.ca 
  • If you receive communication, that you will be required to provide fingerprints to complete the CRC, please go to your local police department or the Saanich Police Department (GVMBHA is located within the District of Saanich). As a volunteer, this service is provided for free, for vulnerable sector screening. 

• Respect In Sport Activity Leader - NOT the parent version
  • The Respect in Sport Activity Leader is an online course and is valid for 5 years. 
  • The course takes about 2-3 hours to complete and you can stop at any time to take a break and go back to the course later. 
  • You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the RIS course.
  • If you have previously completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader program through another organization, you can import your certificate by going to https://cbha.respectgroupinc.com/ -  click on the "Import A Certificate" box and follow the prompts as that imports your certification into our database.
